Phil Barth, Barth Construction, Vero Beach, FL

Phil Barth, President

Phil Barth, III has overseen the success of Barth Construction through the selection of distinctive yet sensitive projects on the barrier island and throughout Indian River County. In addition to the company’s ongoing construction operations, Phil forged the corporate direction for Barth Construction of using the method of Design Build. By engaging area architects on behalf of the client, the fundamentals of client satisfaction and greater project control become significantly realized, thereby providing Barth Construction the ability to deliver a superior project in a timely manner. Guided by Phil’s demand for detail and precision, Barth Construction has achieved recognition for outstanding projects in both residential and commercial projects since 1979.

Phil was born and raised in Vero Beach and he is a graduate of Vero Beach High School. During summer breaks, Phil would work with his father in construction in Cape Cod and in Vero Beach. After graduation, Phil attended the University of Florida, where he studied engineering and received a Bachelor Degree in Building Construction in 1975. That same year, he also obtained my Florida Certified General Contractor’s License.

Phil’s first career job was with Fluor Engineering and Constructors in Los Angeles, where he worked as a cost and scheduling engineer. After that he was assigned to a Grass Roots Oil Refinery located in Esfahan, Iran where he remained from 1976 through completion of the project in 1978. After his time in Iran, Phil and his wife, Allyson traveled for three months through India and southeast Asia. Upon returning to the States, Phil worked for Kaiser Engineering on a Taconite Plant Renovation in Silver Bay, MN.

Growing tired of the cold weather, Phil and Allyson moved back to Vero Beach in the summer of 1979 and began working as a Project Manager for Croom Construction where he worked for the next seven years, before establishing Barth Construction in 1987.

Since opening Barth's Construction's doors in 1987, Phil managed the construction of numerous, high-end custom homes on the Barrier Island, as well as commercial projects in Indian River and St. Lucie Counties.

Phil and Allyson have been married since 1976 and have two children Kelley, who works at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital and Matthew, Vice President of Barth Construction. Phil loves to travel and enjoys fishing, sailing, sporting clays and watching the Florida Gators! Go Gators!
